Step 3. Building Your Lead List

Now that you know what you’re going to say from the Messages Make Magic step, we need to decide who we are going to say it to. I always suggest keeping a lead list of people you think would be interested in your product, service or opportunity.

You can’t just rely on Facebook or Instagram to keep track of these people for you. And you certainly can’t just rely on your followers or your friends list. Most of you have hundreds, if not thousands, of people who follow you cumulatively on your social media platforms, so it’s important your leads have another place to live.

You can keep this in a notebook, a spreadsheet, in your Planner or wherever makes sense to you. Hey, you can even write it on your bathroom mirror in lipstick for all I care! The key is to make sure you write them down in an area you will remember to check daily.

To help you get started, start to fill in these spaces with people that make sense under each category. You will soon realize you know a lot more people than you thought you did!


ProTip:

Every time your business comes up in conversation, after you have discussed opportunities with your lead, always ask for referrals! That way, you will continue to have people you can connect with who are like-minded.

In order to move these people into a warm or hot list, you need to engage in their community, comment and like their posts, respond to their Instagram stories and re-post their content. This will take the longest amount of time to turn these people into customers, but it can be very worthwhile if you remain consistent with building a friendship.

Come back to these lists every day. That’s the most important part of the entire strategy!
